1942 was originally an arcade game that was ported over along with many other Capcom arcade titles. It was among the first few Capcom games to be released on the NES. But it really isn’t that good of a game. 1942 is a generic shooter with some gun power ups that you collect throughout the level. You also have this alternate thingy that makes you dodge all attacks for a little while. Its a little disorienting though. As you progress through the levels, you will encounter some new planes, but they all pretty much do the same thing. The only thing that really changes is the quantity of planes. It gets to the point where there are 10+ planes flying around on the screen at any given time, and becomes pretty challenging. The only real redeeming quality of this game is that it is playable every once in a while. The controls aren’t bad, and the first few levels are pretty fun. But later on it just gets repetitive. |
