Joust is probably one of the more unusual arcade games. You are a knight riding on an ostrich. You run around this little map that is pretty much the only screen you ever see, and step on other enemies heads.

Anyway, Joust started out in the arcade, and then was ported to the Atari, and later on, to the NES. The NES port is by far the best, but the game play of old arcade games doesn’t really hold up in the home console.

This game is fun to play with a friend and the controls are pretty good. But you can only play this game for so long before getting bored of it.

I do find this to be one of the most playable arcade games though. Despite its repetitiveness, it’s fun for a few matches.
